• Competition for a place in the British coach market is hotting-up, with a growing challenge from Continental luxury coach builders. The latest contender is Van Hool, of Belgium, and the first Van Hoot coach to enter service with a British operator was displayed to the Press on Tuesday. It is a 51-seat 3711 model mounted on a Bedford VAL chassis, and will join the fleet of All Seasons Travel Agency Ltd, .London, W2 entering service on August 23.

This initial Van Hool coach will form the prestige vehicle in the All Seasons fleet. Mr B. A. Wallis, managing director, revealed that he had a contract with Collpits Travel. Boston, USA, for bringing American tourists to this country at the rate of 50C per week, commencing on October 3 Passengers booked already total 7,900.

The next step for Van Hool is the display of a coach on a Leyland Leopard chassis al Earls Court next month. This latter vehicle will have 45 reclining seats and is being supplied to Arlington Motor Co Ltd Potters Bar, who also supplied the Al Seasons Bedford /Van Hod model.

Other Continental coaches for Britist operators to be shown at Earls Courl include a Mercedes-Benz 0. 302 and E Salvador Caetano-bodicd coach, suppliec through Moseley Continental Coachworl Ltd.
