• A 100-hours continuous test run with a Leyland Mastiff is being planned by Marshall (Cambridge) Ltd to take place during the week prior to the opening of the Commercial Motor Show on September 18.
The object is to run the 16 tons gvw. 171in, wheelbase, platform vehicle around and around a 450-mile circuit starting and finishing at Cambridge, with calls al Marshall depots at Grimsby, Peterborougl and Bedford for refuelling and drivel changes.
The Mastiff will carry 10.5 tons ol concrete blocks and checks will be recordec on fuel and oil consumption, an maintenance needed and general performance.
