of Transport has accepted a tender of £608,005 for the construction of the first section of the Hereford City north-south relief road which will form part of the A49 NewportShrewsbury trunk road through the city. The scheme includes a new bridge over the River Wye and the work is expected to be completed in about two years.
New Dyson Distributor: J. G. Ryan (Motors) Ltd., of Hertford Road, Barking, Essex, have been appointed official distributors for R. A. Dyson and Co. Ltd. in Essex and certain adjoining areas of East London. Various Dyson models, including a 22-ton tandem with the new D.N.R. suspension and a Dependon 14-ton single-axle semi-trailer, are available for demonstration. International Conference : The next international conference of the Institute of Materials Handling, the theme of which will be"Good Handling—Better Living ", will take place in London during the period May 13-15, 1966. A.E.C. Strengthens in West Country : Commercial Motors (Exeter) Ltd. and the Helston branch of Wincanton Garages Ltd. have recently been appointed as A.E.C. authorized dealers, spare parts stockists and official repairers. The C.M. (Exeter) network is centred on their headquarters at Alphington Road, Exeter (tel. : Exeter 59206-9, with emergency night service). The Wincanton Garages branch is located at St. Johns, Helston, Cornwall (tel.: Helston 2561-2). New Name : Aero Maintenance Equipment Ltd. will in future be known as CAF Mechanical Handling Ltd. For several years the company has specialized in Marrel multibucket tipper units, which now account for almost the whole of its business.
New West End Restrictions: No-waiting restrictions have been imposed on certain lengths of streets in the eastern part of the St. James' parking meter zone in London's West End. The lengths of street where the restrictions apply have been clearly marked by double yellow lines on the carriageway alongside the kerb. The regulations will also restrict loading and unloading to the hours between midnight and 8.30 a.m.
