This warning was issued by the Metromlitan Deputy Licensing Authority, Mr. 1 J. 14 acdonald, prior to the hearing of Lpplica ions for short-term B licences nvolvit ig many tipper operators (a report .ppeart on page 28).

ciplinary powers of revocation, and suspension of licences do not relate 10 offences of this nature", Mr. Macdonald said. But, he continued, such offences clearly fell to be considered as " previous conduct of the applicant in the capacity of a carrier of goods" to which the Authority was required to have regard under section 174(4) in considering applications for A and B licences.
He ended: Mr. Muir (the Metropolitan L.A.) and I wish it to be known that in considering applications for these licences we shall not hesitate to exercise our discretion against any applicants who have been proved to have committed of caused to be committed offences of this nature".
