NEW 2I-TON JEEP

A NEW version of the Willys FC-170

Jeep forward-control 4 x 4 has been introduced, and because of the use of twin rear tyres it can operate at a gross weight of 4 tons, permitting a payload of 2 tons 4 cwt. when a pick-up body is fitted. The lyres are 7.00-16 in. (6 Ply)

The new vehicle is similar in most respects to the normal FC-170 model. It has a wheelbase of 1031 in. and is powered by a six-cylindered 105 b.h.p. petrol engine, driving through a threespeed gearbox.

SLEEPY FISH BY TANKER

A N unusual transport undertaking is rtheing carried out in Rhodesia. where the new man-made Lake Kariba is being stocked with fish. A special Albion tanker is taking the fish—which have been anmsthetized by high pressure oxygen injection to prevent their becoming too active—to the lake. When the lake is filled it is expected to yield 20,000 tons of fish annually.
