Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

STONERIDGE Electronics will begin delivery of its 5E5000 digital smartcard tachographs to MAN, Scania and Daimler Chrysler next week after gaining type approval in Sweden.

The SE5000 incorporates two smartcard slots, LCD display and thermal printer; it can download or print up to one year's tachograph activity. The tachograph also records data onto driver

cards, which hold about 28 day's worth of data.

Amanda Robertson, Stoneridge's fleet sales and marketing manager, says:" We are absolutely delighted that production has now begun. In addition we have also got approval from VOSA for our workshop training scheme for workshop fitters and calibrators who will need to complete the course before they are able to apply for a workshop card. We hope that training will begin next week."

Scania's technical manager, Clive Burnet, says that from June operators will be able to specify a digital tachograph when ordering a new truck: "However, we don't expect demand to be high as the DVLA still hasn't released the driver smartcards and mandatory fitting won't come in until 2006."
