• Shanks & McEwan has added its first 25,500 litre (5,600gal) hazardous waste tanker from Leeds builder Vallely Engineering to its waste disposal fleet.
One important safety feature is its glass flake lining which allows acidic liquids to be carried to disposal sites at Stewartsby and Hartlepool.
Other items are full roll-over and rear end impact protection, pneumatic safety rail plus three top and one rear manway for cleaning and venting.
