• Strathclyde Regional Council has taken delivery of 26 Volvo FL614 4x2 rigids: 20 will be fitted with swap bodies, replacing 40 vehicles fitted with fixed gritting or gulley emptying bodies. The other six will have fixed gulley emptying/jetting equipment.
All the vehicles are left-hand drive and use Volvo's TD63E six-litre engine driving through Eaton T600A six-speed manual gearboxes. Bodies for the vehicles have been supplied by Whale tankers. The order is worth more than £2 million.
