Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The driver of a stolen lorry led police on a spectacular 200km chase through three counties, leaving a trail of destruction in his wake. About 16 police cars pursued the truck as it smashed parked cars and tore through a garage forecourt in scenes reminiscent of the film Smokey and the Bandit.

The three-hour chase began last Thursday in Cowley, Oxford, when the vehicle was stolen from the brickyard of R J Johnson. Police gave chase as bricks started falling off. The lorry was eventually trapped after stewing into an empty filling station and weaving through pumps in an attempt to get away.

It was cornered by two police cars and forced into another petrol station on the A3 near Guildford, Surrey.

A man will appear at Oxford magistrates court on 5 May, charged with taking a vehicle, attempted theft of load and having no insurance.
