Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• ERF produced a record 421 trucks last month and with greatly improved sales in the first two months of 1988 is on course to win a 12.5% share of this year's 16-tonneplus sector.

This best-ever monthly output follows sales of 595 trucks for January/February: an increase of 77.1% over the same period last year when ERF's 339 new registrations won it an 8.1% market share.

In the same period this year sales of ERF eight-wheelers rocketed by 185% to 57 units; E6 4x2 rigid sales were up by 109% with 132 sold, and heavy sales rose by 62%, with 401 units sold.

The ERF truck plant in Cheshire has responded to the boom by boosting output to seventeen trucks a day.
