AA IS GOING FREECALL • AA members will be able to make 'no charge' calls for help when the Automobile Association brings in a free telephone breakdown number later this year.
The new, easy-to-remember number — (0800) 887766 — will be available to half the Association's 6.5-million mem bership when it is introduced progressively from 1 October. All AA members in Great Britain will be using the number by early next year.
The Link Line service will connect members who have broken down anywhere in the country to their nearest AA breakdown operations centre. Information-only calls will continue to be handled on the numbers listed in the new AA Handbook.
