Rodgers: Brighton Livingstone: Malta Duncan: Malta FORMER Transport Secretary Bill Rodgers, now a former MP and a leading member of the Social Democrats, is speaking at one industry conference next month but has pulled out of another.
He gives a keynote address at the Centre for Physical Distribution Management's conference in Brighton on May 3, but has pulled out of the Road Haulage Association's Tipcon event, leaving the field for Government spokesman Lord Lucas.
The CPDM conference runs from May 2 and 3.
Other Tipcon speakers at the event which runs from May 3 to 6 are Maurice Vandome, the highway consultant involved closely in current arguments about the effectiveness of weighbridges, David Lowe, the former CM journalist who runs a consultancy business, Ted Haines, the P&O haulage executive; and John Hibbs, of Birmingham Polytechnic.
