ITIE PRE-PAID multi-ride ticket system used on six London rransport routes is being dropped.

The machinery fitted to buses on services P1, P2, SI, S2, and 33 has been unsatisfactory, and a return is to be made to the :ear-off strips used before July. With this system passengers nsert ticket strips in the driver's farebox.

The ticket strips will be on sale again from tomorrow April 15), but passengers already holding multi-ride tickets vill be allowed a period of grace. From April 22, one of the nulti-ride cancellers will be removed from each bus, but the )ther will remain for several weeks and drivers will retain nulti-ride hand cancellers.

Discount remains the same for ticket strips — eight ourneys for 50p — compared to the flat 10p fare per journey.
