• A Surrey removals firm may have to halve its workforce as a result of vehicle thefts over the past eight weeks, which have cost the company more than £26,000 in lost business. Sutton Removals estimates that since two of its fivestrong fleet were stolen it has been forced to turn away 30 customers.
Takeover agreed
• The board of ailing US truck manufacturer Mack has agreed to Renault's outright takeover bid. Renault already owns 44.5% of Mack; complete acquisition could lead to cooperation between Mack and Volvo's American truck interests, as part of Renault and Volvo's planned alliance.
