• Fuel company Q8 has hived-off its lubricants deliveries operations in a three-year deal with P&O Distribution. It is the first fully fledged contract won by the P&O subsidiary, which was formed in January when P&O merged its noncontainer Roadways business and warehouse arm Butlers.
For the contract, P&O Distribution will use nine new MAN dry freight rigids and three artics, and four rigid tankers it took over from Q8. The company will take on most of Q8's former drivers.
It will deliver lubricants around the country from Q8's blending plant in Leeds. All vehicles will be liveried in Q8 colours and drivers will wear Q8 uniforms. A P&O distribution manager will run the contract on site.
