The holiday motorists may have disappeared now but the roadworks remain. These are some of the motorway repairs that may cause delays in the coming weeks.
MI Hefts Contraflow between junctions 8 and 9 (Hemel Hempstead and Harpenden).
MI Bedfordshire Reconstruction of junction 11 (Dunstable) involves the closure of the junction and contraflow working until the end of September.
M1 Bucks Installation of lighting north of Newport ['agileII service area entails carriageway restrictions until the end of September.
Ml Nottinghamshire Between junctions 27 and 28 (Mansfield and Derby) reconstruction and resurfacing work started this week and will continue for three months. This will entail contraflow working and occasional closures of the two junctions.
M1 South Yorkshire Work on the stretch between junctions 31 and 33 (Worksop and Sheffield Central) will continue until October.
M2 Kent The major works between junctions 5 and 7 (Sittingbourne and Faversham) continue until December.
M4 Berkshire Work on the central reservation between junctions 8, 9 and 10 (Maidenhead and Reading) continues until early October. M5 Somerset Repairs between junctions 24 and 25 (Bridgwater and Taunton) will last into October.
M6 West Midlands Work is being done between junctions 4 and 5 (National Exhibition Centre and Sutton Coldfield).
M6 Cheshire Repairs will continue until October between junctions 17 and 18 (Sandbach and Holmes Chapel).
M20 Kent Carriageway reconstruction between junctions 7 and 8 (east of Maidstone) entails contraflow working until November.
M25 Herts There are lane closures between junctions 18 and 19 (Bunton Bridge) and concrete repairs at junctions 24 and 25 (Potters Bar and Enfield).
M27 Hampshire Contraflow will operate between junctions 2 and 3 (Salisbury and Southampton Docks) until Wednesday, September 17 to allow concrete repairs.
M40 Oxfordshire Severe delays are predicted at peak times due to lane closures on both carriageways near junctions 6 and 7 (Watlington and Wallingford).
