Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Toyota's took effect on September 1 and are between 2-4%. Examples of the new prices (excluding VAT) are as follows: LiteAce (old price £5,145) new price £5,397; Hi-Ace (petrol) (£6,138) 26,383; Hi-Ace (diesel) (6,904) £7,180.

These increases are attributed to the strength of the Yen but are accompanied by some small improvements to the vehicles. For instance, the LiteAce gets a heated rear window, a light in the loadspace and cargo retention hooks — all points mentioned in the CM road test.

Nissan's price rise, also took effect on September 1; once again a strong Yen was given as the reason.

This averages 3% although the Vanette, which was introduced in February this year, escapes the increase. Examples of the other changes, excluding VAT, are: E23 Urvan (petrol) (old price £5,795) new price 26,095; E23 Urvan (diesel) (£6,569) £6,870; Cabstar cicab (petrol) (25,402) 25,702; Cabstar cicab (diesel) (26,166) £6,466.

Mitsubishi car prices have also risen but the L300 van is not affected because a new L300 is to be revealed at the Motor Show next month and will go on sale early next year.
