• Gary Burns has joined Ranco Controls as Sales engineer. Based in the Midlands he will concentrate on developing sales to the commercial heating and cooling markets and will support the heating wholesale markets of Ranco and its associate, Bodinin Precision Components.
• IMS of Loughborough — sole UK distributor for SAF products — has appointed Andy Brooks as sales administration manager, adding air suspension and spares stock control to his previous responsibilities. He is supported by Mike Clulow as stores administrator while Richard Clamp switches from service engineer, SA.F products, to service and spares manager.
• David Bates, formerly parts director with Alfa Romeo tGreat Britain) has formed a consultancy company, Lintrel, specialising in product support. He has extensive experience in the British motor industry including parts marketing manager for Rolls-Royce after-sales manager with Saab.
• Barbara Courtney has succeeded John Adlington as press officer at Esso UK. Adlington will now edit the Esso Magazine.
• Following the restruc• ture of companies making up United Transport Tankers, Roy Tillotson is sales executive for the operation, based at Rothwell, Yorks. He was formerly with the UTT company Smith & Robinson.
• Scapa Group chairman T J Manners has ranguished the non-executive chairmanship of the Fly-Ito tipping gear group in favour of R W Goodall who is the new executive chairman. J Haythornthwaite has been appointed the group's world-wide chief executive.
