Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• As winter approaches, the usual crop of new products aimed at preventing diesel fuel waxing has started to appear on the market.

From Holland comes a fuel-line heater, manufactured by Groenveld Transport Efficiency (GTE). The GTE heater system consists of a thermostatically-controlled heating strip, enclosed in a length of special fuel line and sited between the vehicle's fuel tank and filter.

GTE claims the heater consumes around 100 watts at 25°C and 280 watts during start-up from —20°C.

The system costs 2175 in kit form and it should be possible to install it within two hours. IMS, based in Loughborough, will install the system for an extra 250.
