Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Guy Motors Ltd. announced on Monday the introduction of a new forward-control single-deck passenger chassis known as the J-type. Models in this new range are powered by vertical AEC AV 505 8.19-litre engines mounted at the front of the chassis. The Guy J-type is offered in two basic forms, both suitable for bodywork of up to 11 metres overall length.

One is the Guy Warrior J-type bus with a wheelbase of 21ft and front overhang of 4ft 6in. and the second model is the Guy Warrior J-type Trambus with an 18ft wheelbase and front overhang of 7ft 6in. The latter chassis is designed for bodywork with an entrance ahead of the front axle and replaces the existing Warrior Trambus chassis.

The new chassis is called the J-type because it utilizes many major components from the well-proven Guy Big I range of goods vehicles. It is designed primarily for export and will not be on display at the Commercial Motor Show.

Features of the new models include dual-circuit air-pressure braking, with a third circuit supplying air-assistance for handbrake operation. The dry single-plate clutch has a diameter of 15in. and the gearbox is a constant-mesh six-speed overdrive unit. Final drive is by spiral bevel' wheel and pinion; heavy-duty semi-elliptic springs are fitted at front and rear.

The first order for Warrior J-type buses has been placed by the Eastern Province Bus Co. (1954) Ltd., of Jinja. Uganda, which has specified 10 21ft-wheelbase chassis which are to be fitted with 71-seat bodywork capable of alteration to a luxury interior for use during special functions such as international conferences. United Africa Motors (a Unilever subsidiary), sole agent for Guy Motors Ltd. in Uganda and Tanzania, is supplying the vehicles which will bring the Eastern Province Bus Company's Guy fleet to a total of 42.
