If you get a toy Ford D series tipper through your postbox, the chances are that you are one of the 1,000 fleet operators being approached by Murphy Garages, of Enfield, Middlesex, with a special offer that's more open-ended than most.
Not only are operators being offered a chance to try a Ford truck, they're being actively encouraged to make it work for them. Says managing director Patrick Geaney: "We don't expect you to confine your use of the vehicle to nice little test runs. If you want to use it to clear a backlog of orders—go ahead."
There's faith in the product for you. I'll bet some of the demonstrators are returned with that pristine shine a bit scuffed!
