Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

with Ron Cater!

I don't suppose tbere is one experienced transport engineer who has not at some time been forced to "make do" because it has been impossible to get either his own men to the scene of a repair job in time to meet traffic requirements or find a repair agent with sufficient know-how to tackle the job locally.

Companies engaged in shipping trailer and container equipment overseas know only too well just how frequently these items become unserviceable, or at least unacceptable to Customs authorities, because of damage incurred during ship-loading and off-loading operations.

I have heard this week of a new service introduced by Crane Fruehauf Trailers Ltd. at Felixstowe Dock in the form of a comprehensively equipped mobile workshop staffed by a team fully experienced in trailer and container repairs.

This emergency squad can undertake any job likely to hold up a vehicle and it is on call day and night although from a conversation I had with one of the men on the job, it is obvious that one might experience difficulty in getting hold of someone to start a job rolling. The phone number is Felixstowe 4725 and after normal working hours the line is switched to foreman Jack Cookes' home where messages can be taken.

For drivers at Felixstowe who are in need of assistance, the location of the Crane Fruehauf office at Felixstowe is behind No. 3 Hangar. Anybody asking for that location will be directed there quite simply. A blackboard on the door of the office will have a message giving the working location of the team if they are not at the office and an address will be displayed where contact can be made after normal hours.

The company intends to extend this type of service to Tilbury, Liverpool and Southampton in the near future.
