THERE are. hopes that the dispute 1 between the clearing house group and the long-distance hauliers' committee of the Road Haulage Association will' be satisfactorily concluded. Proposals made by the chairman's committee to heal the breach were considered last week by the group. It is believed that a reduction in subscription rates is 'proposed. The Association's finance committee have now to consider this .suggestion..

The group now have no chairman and a. successor was not appointed last week. Capt. G. A. P. Upston one of the two vice-chairmen, is the only elected officer remaining in the group: The Others have resigned.

ADOPTION OF S.M.M.T. STANDARDS
