• Over 150 staff at the Motor Industry Research Association's laboratories and proving grounds in Nuneaton are set to stage a series of one-day strikes and other industrial action over a pay dispute.
The staff union, the Manufacturing, Science and Finance Union (MSF), is claiming up to 15% for some grades.
An MSF West Midlands union leader says the management wants to bring a new pay bargaining structure which could exclude comparisons with other workers in the industry.
He claims that industrial problems at MIRA are not just about pay. He alleges that since the new director David Swallow arrived 50 of the 250 staff have resigned.
MIRA's management refused to comment.
