LATEST addition to the A. Hirst and Son Ltd. Forager range, the Ant, is announced this week. A battery-electric pedestriancontrolled fork lift truck, it has a capacity of 5 cwt.

Batteries of 82 amp.hr. capacity provide the power—through a heavy-duty motor and chain reduction transmission—for the driving unit. They also power a five-cylinder pump-motor unit serving the hydraulic systems.

The machine has an overall length including forks, of 75in., a turning radius of 39.25in. and will lift to a height of 108in., when its overall height is 128.75in.
