Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AN transport projects will be ihrriprominent among the topics at a Transportation Engineering Conference and Exhibition in London next April. The general theme of the conference will be: "Planning and engineering for transportation."

Organized by the Institution of Civil Engineers in association with Traffic and Engineering Control it will be held at the Central Hall, Westminster, from April 23 to 26 and will be opened by the Minister of Transport.

Papers will be given by authors from the UK, Europe and USA on transport studies, technological and operational advances in public transport, economics, road use, integration of freight movement by road, rail, sea and air, and the education and training of transport engineers and technicians. Transport surveys in London and Birmingham and other big cities will be reviewed.

Fixed-track and guided-bus systems will be evaluated and the "taxi train" idea will be explored.

The organizing chairman, Mr. J. L. Paisley, chief engineer (highways), Ministry of Transport, said last week: "A broad look will be taken at the economics of transport and the means available in Great ' Britain to meet the challenging situation."
