Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

By lain Sherriff DESIGNED to ease handling and speed vehicle turn-round, a new 40,000 sq.ft. distribution warehouse for Tennant Caledonian Breweries Ltd. was opened yesterday at Wellpark, Glasgow, by Sir Alec Douglas Home. And with this new development— which includes other sections of the brewery, too, the company has decided to standardize on Bedfords and Atkinsons.

The area developed is on the site of the original brewery opened over 400 years ago. In the new warehouse is storage space for 12m bottles or cans, while 80 vehicles are used for distribution to retail outlets and docks in the West of Scotland.

In total, Tennant vehicles deliver 3,650 tons of canned beer each week. The new accommodation's better turn-round facilities will help the company meet increased demand without any appreciable addition to the vehicle strength.

Mr. J. A. Stewart, transport manager, told me in Glasgow that his company now agreed on a policy of vehicle standardization: all vehicles up to 12 tons gross are to be Bedfords, and above this weight Atkins ons. Every vehicle is equipped with Tecalemit automatic lubrication.

A member of the Scottish maintenance advisory committee, Mr. Stewart said: "We at Wellpark are very conscious of the need for a well-maintained fleet".

The company is using the GlasgowLondon Freightliner service and finds it satisfactory—but by far the bulk of the company's traffic travels on its own vehicles.
