• The collapse of a Cardiff fruit importer and wholesaler has meant the loss of work for a national distribution company.
Family firm Fresh Fruit Wales, which was placed in the hands of administrative receivers on 29 October, suffered from "a dire last season", says a spokesman.
The Cardiff office of Deloitte & Touche, which is handling the administrative receivership, adds that Fresh Fruit Wales used a national distribution company for its fruit deliveries but refuses to reveal the operator's name because talks are continuing. Fresh Fruit Wales, which began life 27 years ago, has now ceased trading and Deloitte & Touche is trying to realise the assets and collect debts.
