AN ACTIVE centenarian who regularly travels on Cardiff buses has been given a free pass for the rest of his life as a 100th birthday present. His name has been withheld to save him the embarrassment of having microphones stuffed down his throat, cameras and arc lights flashed in his eyes, and — worst of all — those inane questions that radio and television interviewers invariably ask.
He has, I hear, turned down an invitation to appear on a television commercial for football boots.
