Commissioners, at Leeds last week, Mr. M. F. Marshall, for Wallace Arnold Tours, Ltd., Leeds, claimed that the West Yorkshire Road Car Co., Ltd., had objected to an .application solely for the purpose of examining his clients' schedules.

DEBT FREE IN 2# YEARS

NET loss of £60,033 last year by Bradford Transport Department is :plained by the city council's policy of aking the undertaking debt free by the id of March, 1962. A further £91,594 as allocated last year towards the payment of debt, otherwise there would me been a net surplus of £31,561. When e debt is cleared it will be possible to iy new buses and equipment out of venue and reduce operating costs.

Mr. C. T. Humpidge. general manager, his annual report, says there is still a ortage of road staff, and it is becoming creasingly difficult to recruit a suitable pe of person.

INDIAN GROUP INSPECT B.R.S. 'WELVE members of a group repre

senting a cross-section of India's insport industry are visiting this country. ,st week they met Mr. H. W. Elliott, a tmber of the board of management of itish Road Services, and visited the R.S. depot at Hampstead.

The group were interested in the teleinter network and intend to explore the ssibility of its adaptation to transport India.
