• International hauliers have been warned against using their belly tanks in the EC.
As a result the EC and trade associations are advising hauliers not to use their belly tanks. But the EC says if hauliers do, and are fined, they should write to the Commissioner for Indirect Taxation and lodge a formal complaint. They could then he reimbursed when a legal definition is decided upon.
