• A former HGV driving school boss in Southampton is claiming that a hate campaign by rival firms has caused his business to go bust.

Barry Fisk's firm Wildern faces a bankruptcy hearing next month after 22 years in the business. And he claims that more than L30,000 worth of vandalism to his 40-strong fleet of vehicles is to blame.

"My trucks have been constantly damaged during the past eight months at the Swanwick Railway Station Yard.

"Windscreens have been smashed, sugar poured in the tanks, wiring ripped out and some trucks have even been driven off and dumped in a nearby bog," says Fisk.

British Transport Police are in the middle of a long-running investigation into the attacks, Our enquiries are at too delicate a stage for us to comment. We are looking very closely into the problems experienced by Mr Fisk," says a police spokesman.

Fisk adds: "My school was the biggest in the area with contracts to train drivers at all Britain's leading firms We won't be beaten, even though I have been driven to the verge of a nervous breakdown."
