• Two new German trucks debuted at Commercial MolorTruckfest '93.
Mercedes has won type approval for the 1317AK four-wheel-drive 13-tonner, which uses a 123kW (165hp) 5.96-litre engine and sixspeed gearbox with low ratios. The company is also replacing its heavier 1717AK 4x4 with a more powerful version; the 149kW (200hp) 1820AK .
MAN displayed the first Silent Running version of its 22.422 twin-steer tractor. Its 12.1itre engine is rated at 313kW (420hp).
