• Problems associated with tipping 6.1 and 9.1m (20 and 30ft) skeletal trailers with free-flowing bulk loads are said to be overcome by the American-designed Firbank hoist, which is marketed in the UK by Firbank of Houghton Regis, Beds.
The 40-tonne hoist can also be used with 122m (40ft) skeletals under ideal conditions.
It enables a single tractor to serve any number of standard non-tipping trailers.
