• Service times on ERF's latest EC tractive unit range have been cut and many of the changes made to reduce repair times were suggested by workshop technicians.
On a typical L10-engined 4x2 tractor the A service time is unchanged, at 2.7 hours, but the time allowed for the B service drops by 36% to 3.4 hours. The C service comes down by 13%, to 7.1 hours. During the design stage of the EC range ERF asked technicians to highlight servicing and repair problems on the existing vehicle. As a result of their sug gestions replacing the wipe] motor or changing the caL dampers takes an hour less or the EC. Installing a new radio tor takes 3.3 hours, compare( with 5.5 on the E-Series.
The EC's air system has a desic cant dryer and cooling coil a; standard; shackle pins ge improved lubrication. The dri ver is not forgotten with all tht daily checks being carried ou from under the front grille.
