THE title of the bus-building division of The
Daimler Co. Ltd. has been changed to Daimler Transport Vehicles Ltd. as from May I. For the past 30 years the division has been known as Transport Vehicles (Daimler) Ltd.
It is emphasized by the company that this is a change in name only and does not in any way affect the capital, constitution, directorate or activities of the company, nor its control (as a fully owned subsidiary) by Jaguar Cars Ltd.
Tay Bridge Opening: The Queen Mother will open the Tay Bridge on Thursday. August 18, which is later than originally planned. The proposed toll charges vary from 2s, 6d. for private cars to 10s. for commercial vehicles over 10 cwt. unladen, but following RHA and TRTA protests an inquiry is to be held on May 25 at Dundee.
