Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AFTER many years of trade union pressure a five-day week has been conceded by the main BRS companies to clerical and supervisory grades, but the claim for this to apply to all establishments is still resisted for staff employed by Pickfords Travel Agencies and at the terminals of British Road Ferry Services.

The management stress that in view of their seven-day commitments, certain staff will still be required to work on Saturdays, and in some instances on Sundays. and appropriate overtime rates will be paid.

The new arrangements will operate from May 23 and revised rostering arrangements will be the subject of local discussions.
