Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• RDS Technology of Nailsworth, Glos has developed a vehicle-mounted skip weighing system to help calculate the waste disposal tax for a load, and to prevent overloading.

Skiplog will weigh the skip as it is loaded on to the vehicle so the customer can be told the charges.

The system is fitted to both arms of the skip loader and consists of an angle sensor to ensure the load is in the correct weighing position and a load sensor. The weight of the arms and empty skip can be programmed, allowing five skip types to be weighed from 1.0 to 10 tonnes.

Fitting takes about four hours and accuracy is said to be within 2%. Skiplog costs £1,500 (ex-VAT) including installation, calibration and training.
