Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• In 1969 the Transport Development Group Ltd made a profit before tax and depreciation of £10,199,000—the first time that the figure has exceeded £10m. After deduction of depreciation the profit was £6,884,000 (1968: £6,334,000).

Last year's turnover was a record £55,336,000 (£48,900,000) and net profit after all charges was £4,041,000 (£3,813,000).

The rates used for calculating depreciation, increased at the end of 1968, have made the 1969 figure £269,000 greater than it would otherwise have been.

The company is experiencing good trading this year, and expects the 1970 results to show further growth.
