Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A PPLICATIONS for licences to run 1-1. bus services over the Forth Road Bridge between Edinburgh and Fife, described as premature when they came before the Scottish Traffic Commissioners last September, are to be heard by the Commissioners on April 1 in Edinburgh.

Services between Edinburgh and Dunfermline, Edinburgh and Kirkcaldy, and Edinburgh and Leven are proposed by Scottish Omnibuses Ltd., Edinburgh, and W. Alexander and Sons (Fife) Ltd.. Kirkcaldy. Objections have been lodged by British Railways.

An official of Scottish Omnibuses said that the companies were seeking permission to operate express services between Edinburgh and Dunfermline and between Edinburgh and Leven in addition to stage services.

The services proposed by the two companies were described as one and the same by an official of W. Alexander and Sons. By mutual arrangement, he said, journeys originating in Fife would be operated by Alexander's buses.
