Foods' Hull site have said they are happy to continue without representation from URTU, despite expressing concerns about their lack of union representation.
Drivers had voted for industrial action in a ballot that ended on 31 May but, during a meeting on 2 June, drivers told the union that Cranswick's attitude towards them had changed since concerns first arose. They added they were happy for URTU not to intervene as long as the union was satisfied with the result of negotiations over pay and terms and conditions.
The company will continue to consult and negotiate with elected driver representatives.
URTU regional officer Graham Bird said: "It should be borne in mind that this whole situation was created because the drivers were of the opinion that their views were being ignored, and that the company was simply dictating to them without any sort of meaningful discussion."
