• The long awaked Traffic Area Network's TAN21 computer system is now going through final security checks before going live.
The roll-out is almost a year behind schedule, following a number of teething problems during trials in the Scottish traffic area which left hauliers waking for up to a month for their applications to be processed.
TAN21 promises a number of benefits for operators and law enforcement agencies alike.
It is designed to: • Provide more efficient control of 0canoe details with co-ordination across all traffic areas; • Enable operators to change their icence details online; • Supply enforcement agencies with Tal-time data to help them catch illegal )perators.
The Road Haulage Association and he Freight Transport Association have nembers signed up to pilot the system.
