T agree completely with 1 Stewart Brown's criticisms of "how am! doing?" messages on the back of trucks (CM 30 May-5 June).

How can you expect people who have no knowledge or care for this industry to comment on a professional's actions? If the campaign is allowed to continue it will further alienate drivers who are never likely to be anything else but guilty in the eyes of the public. Joe Public does not like lorries and he never will He does not see the need for them, which is the root of the problem.

If newspapers print untruths they usually have to retract them later. What justice for the innocent driver and operator? A personal apology from their accuser when the facts come out? I think not Name and address supplied.
