BRITAIN is not being flooded with Hino lorry chassis, Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders director Anthony Fraser claimed last week.
Speaking in London, he said that British and European manufacturers' fears last year had been unfounded. "It has not happened. Only 13 chassis have been registered up to the end of April."
Sales of the Japanese vehicles, which are assembled in Ireland, may be beginning to climb, though, as CM knows of one importer which has recently lost an order for eight tippers in the face of Hino competition.
