STRATHCLYDE PTE has no copyright over the Transcard name for its season tickets, and can do nothing to prevent BRS from using it for credit cards launched for lorry and coach drivers (see p18).
A Strathclyde spokesman told CM that the PTE was unaware of BRS' decision to launch its credit cards as Transcard, but said there was nothing it could do to protect the name. She added that a haulier had used the PTE's Trans-Clyde name and had been unable to do anything about it either.
