CUMMINS has launched a new turbocharged version of its 14litre family of engines.
Designated the NT 250, it develops 186kW (25 Obhp) at 1900rpm compared with the 179kW (240bhp) of the NT 240 which it replaces.
Cummins claims that the new engine is up to 15 per cent more economical than the naturallyaspirated NHC 250 version of the same engine series.
The NT 250 is a small cam design and will be built at Cummins' Shotts plant in Lanarkshire.
Full details of the engine will be published in next week's CM.
