• The produc non of the wro tachograph cha has led to Edin burgh lorry dri er Harold Begbie being committed for trial at Lancaster Crown Court.
Begbie, of Roseburn Terrace, Edinburgh, is charged with attempting to pervert th course of justice in that between 19 October and 24 November 1988 he produced tachograph chart as evidence criminal proceedings. It purported to relate to a journey made on 24 August 1988 but fact related to a journey undc taken on 20 October 1988.
Begbie was granted uncon. ditional bail.
