1 Dissatisfied Metro Cammell Veymann customers are join1g forces to spur the manufacurer to improve its spare arts and warranty service. The predominantly Metroridr user group, has been set up y Peter Iddon, engineering irector of Blackburn Borough 'ransport, who claims that bus perators throughout the UK ave experienced problems ince MCW was put up for sale rst December.
He claims that his company as "extreme difficulties" with 4CW and that the 12 to 15 perators he has contacted ave indicated they will be joinrg the group. Iddon has told ominercial Motor "Perhaps if le speak to MCW collectively, re might get some action." Sheffield-based SUT, already member of the group says it as had warranty work prob
lems with four of its 10 Metroriders.
Ian Hann, group general manager of SUT, estimates that repairs and conseqent loss of use has cost his company up to 23,000 since February this year. He fears that because of the unsettled future of MCW, the problem will not be resolved soon.
MCW declined to comment.
