Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE NORTH of England is the theme of next week's Commercial Motor. We look in on haulage contractors in the Carlisle area, visit a busy truck dealer in the North East, and pick out the transport highlights at the Great Yorkshire Show. For a public service vehicle view we go to a coach operator in South Yorkshire which is trying to sell an up-market travel product. Away from the regional focus, we test Peugeot Talbot's newcomer to the small diesel van market.

• Carlisle is hest known these days for the manner in which it is bypassed by the M6, but the area is still a lively centre for transport. Jack Semple looks at the operations of some of the hauliers, focusing on Robson's, the biggest contractor in the area.
