Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IN THE ROAD TEST of the Mercedes tractor unit, which was coupled to a Trailor trailer (CM, June 22) the point is made that: "The Trailor platform trailer used for this test, equipped with twist-locks and the necessary additional supports, is heavier than our standard Crane Fruehauf platform trailer.

The reason for the great dif

ference in weight is that, a noted, our trailer was equippel with twist locks and th necessary additional supportE and of course Commerci Motor's Crane Fruehauf is nc equipped with those items. think it would have been clearE had the point been made thE the Crane Fruehauf is not fitte with twist locks and bolsters.

J. C. HARRISON, Managing director, Trailor (UK) Ltd, Blackwell, Derbyshire.

The weight di ference was pointed out merely to ensu that readers understood we were not this instance comparing like with like. Editor
